A Globe Valve is a valve for shut off or control the flow of fluids (liquids or gases). Inside of globe valves, a closing element (eg, a cone or a ball) is moving almost parallel to the flow direction of the fluid. The flow is reduced or stopped by pressing the entire closure part to a suitably shaped opening.
In contrast to other shut-off devices (for example, gate valves, shut-off valves or ball valves), globe valves can be manufactured in such a way that they have a uniform flow pattern throughout the flow range, Therefore, in addition to the pure shut-off of flows, globe valves are also suitable for control applications.
